Senior Program Consultant - Healthcare
Opportunity Summary
We are seeking an experienced professional with deep expertise in the healthcare payer industry, including direct experience with FACETS, either through a healthcare payer organization or via working with Trizetto or Cognizant. This role requires comprehensive program management skills and the ability to lead large-scale IT and transformation projects, particularly related to cloud-based Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, capable of navigating complex change initiatives with executive stakeholders while ensuring smooth program execution and stakeholder alignment.
Key Responsibilities
Program Management and Leadership:
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive program management plans, including charter creation, schedule management, risk mitigation, and transition planning.
- Drive stakeholder engagement and ensure alignment between business and IT operations.
- Facilitate Executive Program Oversight Committees, providing executive-level briefing packages and documenting critical decisions and actions.
- Monitor progress, identify risks and issues, and proactively drive resolutions.
- Develop and oversee governance and decision-making frameworks to ensure project alignment.
Stakeholder Alignment and Advocacy:
- Engage with key stakeholders from both healthcare payers and vendor partners to align on program objectives and deliverables.
- Act as an advocate for executive alignment and communication, ensuring that stakeholders remain engaged and informed.
- Provide independent feedback on progress and stakeholder sentiment.
- Support organizational change management (OCM) efforts to support smooth adoption of new processes and technologies.
- Drive execution of comprehensive change management strategies, including training, communications, and stakeholder engagement.
- Drive the successful transition from legacy systems to cloud-based solutions, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer and stakeholder buy-in.
Acceptance Testing and Quality Assurance:
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to define UAT requirements and success criteria.
- Establish clear RACI matrices to manage responsibilities and timelines during testing phases.
- Oversee the execution and documentation of user acceptance testing to ensure stakeholder satisfaction and sign-off.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of consulting experience, preferably in healthcare payer environments or working directly with Trizetto/Cognizant on FACETS implementations.
- Proven expertise in program management, especially in complex IT and transformation projects.
- Demonstrated leadership in stakeholder engagement and alignment.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills, and ability to deliver tactically but drive a forward-looking view.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage at executive levels.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Passion or experience in AI strongly preferred
- Comfortable working in a high-change environment
- Certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or Agile/Scrum, are desirable.
