Contract Consultant:

ServiceNow

The ServiceNow Technical and Commercial Expert Consultant is a project-based, client-facing role responsible for providing technical and commercial expertise supporting client engagements. Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented and will have experience consulting with large (e.g., Fortune 250) enterprises as well as deep technical and commercial knowledge of ServiceNow. 


The ServiceNow Consultant will collaborate with client stakeholders to understand their technical requirements, suggest configuration and customizations of ServiceNow modules, and provide support through new implementation or complex transformation initiatives. Candidates will work closely with clients to understand their licensing requirements, provide expert advice on license options, ensure compliance with licensing agreements, optimize license usage, and negotiate contracts with ServiceNow vendors. 


The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of ServiceNow functionality and best practices, along with a strong understanding of ServiceNow licensing models, excellent negotiation skills, and a keen eye for detail. Additionally, candidates should have experience identifying, developing, and securing new network business opportunities with clients.


Must have:


  • A working knowledge and current understanding of ServiceNow module features and function, implementation and execution best practices, license model nuances, and industry best commercial and negotiation strategies
  • Ability to define which technical risks and issues need to be addressed, and the variables that may affect their resolution

Additional details:


  • Consult with clients to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and identify opportunities for ServiceNow implementation
  • Design and recommend configurations for ServiceNow modules, workflows, forms, and integrations to align with clients' business needs
  • Suggest ServiceNow application and module customizations using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other related technologies
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including business analysts, developers, and system administrators, to ensure successful implementation and deployment of ServiceNow solutions
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to clients regarding ServiceNow platform capabilities, limitations, and best practices
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest ServiceNow features, releases, and industry trends, and proactively identify opportunities to enhance clients' ServiceNow implementations.
  • Collaborate with the ServiceNow development community, participate in forums and user groups, and share knowledge and experiences with colleagues.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and translate them into ServiceNow licensing requirements
  • Analyze existing license agreements and contracts to identify potential areas for optimization and cost savings
  • Advise clients on appropriate ServiceNow license models, editions, and user types based on their specific requirements and budget
  • Assist clients in managing and optimizing their ServiceNow license usage to ensure compliance and minimize costs
  • Negotiate contract terms and pricing with ServiceNow vendors to secure favorable agreements for clients
  • Conduct license audits and assessments to ensure compliance with licensing terms and conditions
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on license renewals, upgrades, and add-on purchases based on clients' evolving needs
  • Stay up-to-date with ServiceNow licensing models, updates, and pricing structures to provide accurate and timely advice to clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including legal and procurement, to review and finalize contracts and licensing agreements
  • Keep clear and direct communication with clients to minimize miscommunication and misunderstandings
  • Readily identify priorities and anticipate issues, potential conflicts, inaccuracies, or miscalculations
  • Present, host, facilitate, or participate in virtual and on-site meetings and conference calls


Candidate Profile:


  • Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in working with ServiceNow platform, including core modules such as Incident, Problem, Change, Service Catalog, and CMDB.
  • 5+ years of experience working with ServiceNow licensing models and contract negotiations.
  • Proven track record in ServiceNow configuration, customization, and implementation projects.
  • Solid understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) and ITIL processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • ServiceNow certifications are desirable.
  • Proven track record in successfully negotiating contracts with software vendors, including ServiceNow.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to analyze license usage data and identify opportunities for optimization across complex license agreements and contracts.
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills, with the ability to advocate for clients' interests while maintaining positive vendor relationships.
  • In-depth knowledge of ServiceNow licensing structures, editions, user types, and pricing models.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Familiarity with software asset management (SAM) practices and tools is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients and contracts simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, licensing models, pricing structures, and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
